Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers (FIBC) or Bulk Bags have been gaining popularity since the introduction of woven polypropylene about 50 years ago. Today, the use of bulk bags in North America is widely accepted, and continues to increase in many applications. We offer a wide range of bulk bags with different designs. Some of them can be readily applicable to your use, and we can also modify or change the designs to suit your specific handling and storage needs. BULK BAG MATERIAL

Woven polypropylene is the most common material used in FIBC bulk bags.

All the polypropylene materials we use have UV inhibitor for UV protection. Double UV treatment is available for greater durability.
We use only new materials in bulk bag production to ensure material strength.
All threads, lift loops and coatings are UV treated.

BULK BAG FABRIC SPECIFICATION

The safety work load (SWL) of a bulk bag is directly related to the fabric thickness (even though the design of the bag also plays an important role). The gauge of fabric thickness is the woven fabric weight per unit fabric area (oz./yd.sq ). The following is a general reference on SWL and fabric thickness.

MOISTURE RESISTANCE FABRIC COATING

Woven fabric is naturally breathable. Moisture resistance is available by coating the woven fabric with one or more layers of Polyethylene film.

ANTI-STATIC FIBCS

Accumulation of static energy on bulk bag can be hazardous in certain environment. Anti-static fabric has built-in inhibitor to disperse the static energy to a larger area, therefore greatly reduces the possibility of electrical spark.

We provide UN certified anti-static FIBCs for applications where static electrical charge harmful or where static charge may cause material to stick to the fabric, such as for transporting metal powers.

GROUNDABLE FIBCS

Groundable Type C and Type D fabrics are available for applications in special environmental conditions. Groundable FIBCs have conductive threads woven into the fabric to conduct any static energy to the ground. The groundable FIBCs have to be really grounded all the time during application, otherwise it will be more likely to give out a spark because of the energy concentration on the conductive threads.

LINER OPTIONS

Standard Liners: We have standard material liners for moisture resistance, contamination control, and reusability. Liners are available for all bag size and types. Liners can be loose fit, glued on, or stitched onto the woven bulk bags.
Anti-Corrosion VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) liners: For ferrous and non-ferrous metal or alloy materials, it is often desiable to have added safe guard against moisture and chemical corrosion. Our anti-corrosion VCI liners have a chemical inhibitor such that when metals are packaged in the liners, the inhibitor volatilizes in the packaging environment and forms a protective molecular layer on the surface of the metal. This protective layer serves as a barrier, preventing moisture, salt, dirt, oxygen, and other corrosion-causing materials from depositing on the metal and causing rust and corrosion. The protective layer will evaporate in several hours after the package is opened and leave no residual on the metal surface.

FOOD GRADE FIBCS

We manufacture FDA food grade FIBCs. Materials are certified to be safe in food grade handling and tranportation. We have special manufactring process to maintain the cleanness of the FIBCs.

SIFT-PROOF SEAM

To prevent fine power material from sifting through the seams, a strip felt or cord is stitched into the seams.

Baffle/Non-Baffle Bag

Baffled bags have the ability to maintain a relatively square shape, which increases storage efficiencies. The drawbacks are higher cost and more seam lines, which could potentially lead to decreased bag strength.
Non-baffle bags take a more rounded shape when filled which takes more storage space. However, in these bags stress is distributed more uniformly, there
are fewer seam lines on the bags, and they are less expensive to make.

SIZE SELECTION

Bulk bag size is selected according to the type and weight of the product held

Bags made out of flexible fabric will expand in volume on average by 15-20% when filled. With the weight of product defined, the volume of the product can be calculated. At the end of this brochure is a density table for some products

Example for Size Selection :

For 2000 lbs of soybean seeds with density of 50 lbs/ft 3 , the volume is 40 ft 3 . Using a 40”x48” pallet and considering the bag will expand in length and width after filled, the pre-fill bag's foot print can be 35”x41”.

Considering product volume of 40 ft 3 , taken as the after-fill bag volume, the pre-fill bag volume is 34.8 ft 3 . Using 35”x41” footprint, the height of the bag is 42”.

To help with filling and spill prevention, we recommend 4” of extra height. A 35”x41”x46” bag will be perfect for this application.
